Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®)

In order to closely align with the development of economic diversification in Macau, Faculty of Finance (FOF) of City University of Macau, the International Training and Testing Center (ITTC) of City University of Macau, the Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS), and the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, (IARFC®) have jointly organized the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®) executive program. Aiming at enhancing the quality of financial professionals in Macau by training financial management personnel with an international perspective and practical skills, and to cultivate local talent needed for the development of distinctive financial industries.

1.Introduction of RFC

The RFC is a professional designation awarded by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC®) to members who meet the Association’s high standards of education, experience and integrity. All successful graduates of the Program, subject to satisfaction of Membership Requirements of the IARFC, shall be conferred the RFC designation.

2.Course Outline

Module 1 - Personal Financial Planning (8 hours)

Module 2 - Finance and Investment (8 hours)

Module 3 - Tax System and Law (8 hours)

Module 4 - Case Studies (6 hours)

Total 30 hours

3. Course Language and Hours

Chinese with total 30 hrs, this courses are included in the qualified activities under the Continuing Professional Development Program for Insurance Intermediaries of the Monetary Authority of Macao.

4. Tuition Fees

• Macau Residents: MOP 7,000

• Non-Macau Residents: MOP 9,000

• Each enrolled student must also pay a course registration fee of MOP 500.

***The registration fee and tuition fees are non-refundable once paid and the student is admitted***

5. Application Notes

All applications for the RFC must be approved by the "Program Steering Committee" and the approval results will be notified by email.

6.Certification

6.1 Fully attendance (100%)

6.2 An individual case study report submitted, and assessed as "qualified",

6.3 Subject to satisfaction of Membership Requirements of the IARFC, shall be conferred the RFC designation and the certificate of "Professional Certificate in Financial Consulting" co-issued by FOF & ITTC, City University of Macau

7.Admission Requirements

With minimum 8 years of fulltime working experience in life insurance, financial planning or related fields; OR
With minimum 5 years of fulltime working experience in life insurance, financial planning or related fields and holding a recognized sub-degree qualification; OR
With minimum 3 years of fulltime working experience in life insurance, financial planning or related fields and holding:
a recognized university degree; OR
at least one of the following industry qualifications / designations: CWM, AMTC, EMD, IFPC, LUTCF, FLMI, CMFA, CIAM, CLU, CFP, CHFC, HKRFP or equivalent; OR
Holding a professional practice qualification in Law, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Financial Analysis or other equivalent qualifications.
