College of Electrical, Energy and Power Engineering,Yangzhou University Trains at CityU Macau— Focusing on AI and New Energy Finance to Empower Cross-disciplinary Cultivation of Electrical Engineering Talent



MACAU — The International Training and Testing Center (ITTC) at City University of Macau (CityU Macau) has successfully concluded the 2026 Student Training Program for the College of Electrical, Energy and Power Engineering,Yangzhou University . Held from July 27 to 31, 2026, the program hosted 15 engineering students and a faculty representative.

Designed to support the Macau SAR Government's "1+4" strategy for moderate economic diversification, the program focused on high technology and modern finance. By leveraging CityU Macau's interdisciplinary capabilities across data science, business, and finance, the initiative delivered a tailored curriculum centered on "AI + New Energy Finance."

The curriculum provided students with comprehensive cross-disciplinary exposure through three core areas:

AI Ethics and Social Impact: Lectures examined ethical considerations in early-stage technology development, exploring governance boundaries for intelligent algorithms in power grid dispatch and automated systems.

Corporate Innovation in the Digital Era: Seminars addressed how artificial intelligence is transforming high-end equipment manufacturing and how these technologies can optimize electrical engineering workflows.

New Energy Finance & Market Simulations: Sessions covered the intersection of finance and advanced new energy vehicle manufacturing. To reinforce key concepts, participants engaged in a game-based power plant simulation that modeled electricity market trading dynamics, enhancing systems thinking and strategic market analysis.

Beyond classroom instruction, participants visited local national education landmarks and historical sites curated by local heritage associations. The immersive cultural experience included a traditional Portuguese azulejo tile painting workshop, highlighting Macau's unique cultural heritage alongside its economic development.
