The City University of Macau’s International Training and Testing Centre (ITTC) said in a recent statement that an opening ceremony was held to celebrate the establishment of the Trinity Examination Centre in the city on August 20.
According to the statement, ITTC, which is located in the Golden Dragon Centre in Nape, has been providing “quality” teacher training and professional development courses for different government entities.
The statement said that ITTC also serves as an international examination and testing site, partnering with the United States College Board to offer SAT, the British Council in Hong Kong and in the United States to offer the IELTS and ETS, and TOEFL iBT and TOEIC tests.
The statement noted that in order to promote the use of English in Macau, ITTC represents Trinity College London (TCL) to serve as Macau’s test site to cater specifically for students’ English language testing and training needs in tertiary education.
According to Wikipedia, Trinity College London is an examination board based in London which offers graded and diploma qualifications across a range of disciplines in the performing arts and English language learning and teaching.
The statement quoted English for Asia Limited (EfA) Director Timothy McClenahan as saying that as a major English language course provider, English for Asia understands how qualified and experienced teachers could help to contribute to Macau being competitive on the international stage. He also said he believed that the partnership of ITTC and Trinity College will for sure set a new chapter in Macau’s English language learning.
