Savoring the Temperature of Coffee with CityU's ITTC


On March 19, 2025, the International Training and Testing Center of City University of Macau invited Gary Chan, a certified instructor from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), to host a "Specialty Coffee Experience Workshop" for CityU students. The workshop allowed participants to learn and experience the charm of coffee through hands-on practice.

At the beginning of the workshop, Instructor Gary Chan introduced the international standards and certifications for specialty coffee, combining historical background, flavor profiles, brewing equipment, and brewing processes to provide participants with foundational knowledge.

Gary Chan thoroughly explained the use of various manual brewing tools, from pour-over kettles to filter cups and paper filters, guiding students through each step of manual brewing. Participants were able to brew their own coffee by adjusting water temperature, pouring speed, and technique, thereby enhancing their coffee knowledge and skills.
