2025/2026 Academy Programme Admission
1. About the Senior Academy
Launched in March 2025, the CityU Senior Academy embraces the principles of “lifelong learning” and “social inclusion”. Designed exclusively for adults aged 55 and above, the Academy offers a diverse range of learning and experiential courses to enhance seniors’ quality of life and sense of community belonging. Managed by the City University of Macau’s International Training and Testing Center (ITTC), the curriculum covers smart digital-life skills, physical & mental wellness, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Chinese–Macanese–Portuguese traditional crafts, empowering seniors to build confidence, foster social interaction, and strengthen both physical and mental health.
2. Target Applicants
Macau residents aged 55 or above;
Basic literacy and reading ability required.

Covers physiological characteristics of older adults, TCM health preservation, daily nutrition and fall-prevention training. A final assessment measures learning outcomes to help seniors maintain physical fitness and enjoy an active life. |
Health Psychology | Community Service Learning & Experience | Introduces concepts of health psychology, helping seniors understand how psychological factors affect health and quality of life. Learn emotional regulation, health promotion and community service to enhance self-worth and mental wellbeing. | |
Smart Digital Living for Seniors “Usage” | Smart Digital Living for Seniors “Enjoyment” | Progressive instruction from basic smartphone operations, common apps, QR code payments and anti-fraud measures, to mobile photography, image editing and AI creation. Culminates in a group project “A Moment of My Life” – shooting, editing and presenting – helping seniors integrate safely and confidently into digital life. | |

3. Application Guidelines

Fees
Registration fee: MOP 50 (one-time, non-refundable)
Tuition per semester: MOP 800
Covers 4 courses totalling 90 hours, textbooks, monthly outings, special lectures, final showcase, opening & closing ceremonies, and certificate presentation.
Payment method: Cash is NOT accepted. Payment must be made in person at the Center by credit card or other electronic means.
Refund Policy
Course fees are non-refundable once paid, except in the following circumstances:
Insufficient enrolment leading to class cancellation;
A medical condition (certified by a Macau-registered physician) that prevents attendance, provided the documentation is submitted before the course starts.

5. Programme Regulations
Attendance of at least 80% is required for each course. Students must be punctual; arriving 20 minutes or later is counted as absent.
The attendance sheet will be collected 20 minutes after class begins. Students must sign personally.
Sick leave: Submit a medical certificate issued by a Macau-registered physician within 30 days after returning to class to be considered justified.
Personal leave: Apply in advance and complete the leave form provided by the Center.
Please set mobile phones to silent mode during class and follow all teacher instructions and other classroom rules.
