CityU and Fuzhou University Jointly Launch Summer Activity to Build a New Platform for Cross-Strait Youth Exchange and Cooperation
From July 6 to 11, 2025, a total of 24 Taiwanese students from five universities in Fujian Province participated in the program , which was jointly organized by Fuzhou University and Macau City University (CityU of Macau). This marked Fuzhou University’s first time sending Taiwanese students to Macau for national education and learning practice. The program aimed to let students gain deeper understanding of Macau’s development since its return to China, and enhance their recognition of the opportunities arising from the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, thereby improving their comprehension of the country’s development strategies.
The program activity focused on national education and featured lectures on Macau’s social, cultural, and economic development, international tourism talent cultivation, the integration and development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as innovative applications in national education. Students also visited key cultural landmarks and exhibitions in Macau, such as the Macau Science Center, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Macau Port, the Patriotic Sentiment Exhibition Hall, and thematic exhibitions illustrating Macau’s history and its role in the Silk Road. These experiences enriched students' understanding of Macau’s development and its strategic importance in the Greater Bay Area.
This activity provided a valuable platform for teachers and students to learn, communicate, and experience together, and served as an important bridge for cross-strait youth exchange and cooperation. Through thematic discussions and diverse experiential learning, students gained a comprehensive understanding of Macau’s development path and its significant strategic role in the Greater Bay Area’s collaborative development. Moreover, it promoted cultural exchange and integration between the two places, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation and joint development in education among youth across the Taiwan Strait.
