Guangzhou College of Technology and Business Students Visit City University of Macau for a Study Tour
From 1 to 5 December 2025, the International Training and Testing Center (ITTC) of City University of Macau and Guangzhou College of Technology and Business jointly organised the “Guangzhou College of Technology and Business Students Study Tour at City University of Macau,” a five-day programme themed around art, design and technological innovation, with 33 students participating. Centred on the CityU Macau School of Innovation and Design, the curriculum formed a complete learning pathway from the basic application of virtual reality in art, to public participation in digital media, media applications in interaction design, AIGC (AI-generated content) techniques in animation production, and finally to design aesthetics and technological innovation, helping students understand the transformation of artistic creation in the digital era and inspiring cross-disciplinary innovative thinking that links cultural heritage with modern technology.
In addition to classroom learning, students undertook in-depth cultural field studies in Macao’s Historic Centre, including Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul’s, and joined a “Macao World Heritage Cultural Handcraft Workshop,” where they used Perler Beads under the guidance of professional instructors to recreate classic elements of the historic district, gaining a tactile experience of Macao’s cultural texture. Guided tours at the Macao Museum of Art, including the “Maritime Encounters” exhibition on Sino-Portuguese ceramics and the “Handover Gifts Exhibition,” deepened students’ understanding of art history and Macao’s return to the motherland, and encouraged them to integrate cultural elements into interactive design; on the final day, five student teams reported on topics such as virtual reality cases, cultural arts, digital cultural tourism and AIGC–art integration, receiving high recognition from instructors.
