City University of Macau Holds Graduation Ceremony for Senior Learners

The Academy for Senior of City University of Macau held the graduation ceremony for its 2025/2026 academic-year certificate programme at the HG01 Conference Centre on the Taipa campus. Eighteen senior learners completed the one-year programme, which reflects Macau’s commitment to lifelong learning, social inclusion, and cooperation between higher education institutions and community organisations.

The programme consisted of 180 hours of learning across four main areas: smart digital living, physical and mental wellness, traditional Chinese medicine, and Chinese-Portuguese traditional crafts. It also included practical topics such as nutrition, physical therapy, fitness, psychological health, community service, smartphone use, and AI-assisted creativity.

Since its establishment in 2025, the Senior Academy has provided learning and experiential opportunities for older adults and has served more than 2,000 participants through collaboration with various social service organisations. The programme aims to help senior learners remain active, confident, connected, and engaged in their communities.

The ceremony featured a review video and an exhibition of learners’ Chinese-Portuguese cultural handicrafts. Moving forward, the Senior Academy will continue to improve its courses, expand digital and cross-regional collaboration, and contribute to the development of an inclusive and age-friendly society in Macau.
