Using Macau as a Bridge to Walk with the World —
CityU Macau GSI Yields Fruitful Results
The one-week City University of Macau 2026 GSI , involving over 330 faculty and students from more than 30 institutions, concluded with a closing ceremony at the Cultural Center on the Taipa Campus. Under the theme “Walking with the World, Dialoguing with the Future,” the program offered an international learning experience through academic study, city exploration, and industry insights.
University leaders described the GSI as a platform for learning and exchange that connects academia with industry, campus with city, and Macau with the world. Participants were encouraged to continue learning, broaden their horizons, strengthen critical thinking, and develop global perspectives and a sense of responsibility.



Representatives from partner institutions noted that students gained deeper understanding of AI’s impact on education and society, while improving critical thinking and humanistic literacy. They praised the professional teaching team and active student engagement, expressing hope that the experience would motivate future development.
Student representatives shared that the program expanded their knowledge of frontier topics, strengthened international perspectives and cross-cultural communication skills, and deepened their understanding of Macau’s history, culture, and social development through classroom learning, city field studies, and corporate visits.



The program featured interdisciplinary teaching by faculty with international academic backgrounds. Specialized and industry sessions included sharing on business management, research related to Portuguese-speaking countries, cybersecurity, and changes in the employment market amid technological transformation.
In the outcome showcase, student groups presented on urban development, cultural innovation, technology applications, and social services, demonstrating interdisciplinary integration and teamwork. Outstanding groups received awards.
