City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center:

Expanding Diverse Cooperation, Promoting Youth  Development

The City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center has been continuously expanding and creating diversified cooperation projects with various government and social institutions in Macau since 2021. Actively broadening its services and partners, the center aligns with the development of Macau's youth policies by collaborating with Macau youth social groups, such as the Chinese Young  Progressive Association and the Macau Percussion Association, on various projects. These projects cover training, competitions, and lectures, aiming to establish a channel for the learning of knowledge and culture; build a platform for Macau and youth from different regions to gather, exchange, and share; and act as a bridge connecting different cultures, assisting youth in exploring and planning their personal growth and development paths, and expanding their international perspectives.

Knowledge and Learning Channels

On July 13, 2024, Ho Zhen, Director of the City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center, was invited to be one of the judges for the "English Speech Contest".  During the evaluation and comment segment, Director Ho highly praised all  participants and encouraged them to not only master English but also to deeply understand current affairs to increase personal confidence during the preparation process. She also conveyed that the goal of the competition is to provide a platform to gather outstanding English-speaking talents in the Macau region, promote English communication and development, and lay a solid foundation for their growth path.

Youth Gathering, Exchange, and Cultural  Learning Platform

On July 22, 2024, the City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center co-organized the "Chinese Outstanding Traditional Culture Forum" for the Chinese Young Progressive Association. Professor Wang Zhong from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Associate Professor Wang Boxun from the   School of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau served as speakers. They delivered talks on "Interpretation of the Outstanding Characteristics of Chinese Civilization" and "Stone Culture Image Communication," conveying the essence and connotations of Chinese outstanding traditional culture to youth from Macau and Taiwan. The forum not only built a learning and exchange platform for young people but also   provided significant impetus for promoting cultural exchange and integration  between the two regions.

The aim was to let young people visiting City University of Macau and Macau for the first time understand how to communicate and exchange effectively under different cultural backgrounds and experience the learning atmosphere at City University of Macau.

The project also invited Lecturer Luo Yanwen and Mr. Xu Guojie from the School of International Tourism and  Management at City University of Macau to give talks on "Music Without Borders: Multicultural Communication from a Macau Cultural Perspective"  and "Symphony of Music and Friendship: Ice-Breaking Movement,"   respectively. Through interaction and exchange between mentors and participants, they broke down cultural barriers and promoted friendship and exchange among youth from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
