City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center Builds In-service Training Programs for Hunan Province University Teachers
On August 5, 2024, a delegation of 24 teaching staff from three different vocational and technical colleges in Hunan Province visited City University of Macau to participate in the "2024 Hunan Province University Teachers' In-service Training at City University of Macau" program planned by the City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center. The training program, which began in November 2023, has been held for the third time, further building a platform for mutual learning between universities in the two regions.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Zhou Ni, representing the Basic Course Department of Hunan Business Vocational and Technical College, stated that this was their third visit to City University of Macau to participate in the training courses planned by the center. She highly praised City University of Macau's achievements in the field of education and the arrangement of the courses, and looked forward to learning advanced educational concepts, teaching methods, and experiences in scientific research and innovation through this training.
Professor Deng Zaofu, Dean of the Academic Affairs Office of Hunan Bio-Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College, expressed his hope that the training would enable the participating teaching staff to apply the knowledge and skills learned in their daily teaching scenarios, enrich their teaching skills, and improve the quality of teaching. He also thanked the staff of City University of Macau for planning the training program.
Associate Professor Tang Yan, Deputy Dean of the Medical College at Yongzhou Vocational and Technical College and a representative of the training participants, said that it's the first-time to participant in the City University of Macau Hunan Province University Teachers' In-service Training Program. She noted that the teachers participating in the training were frontline medical teaching staff. She hoped that through this exchange and interaction with City University of Macau's teaching staff, new teaching ideas and strategies would be inspired, strengthening cooperation and exchange between universities in the two regions, and contributing to the development of the educational cause together.
Training Course Implementation
The training course was led by Professor Wang Zhong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at City University of Macau, focusing on two main topics: "Integration and Innovation—The Source and Characteristics of Macau Culture" and "Macau Higher Education in the Process of Position Transformation."
Starting with the development of Chinese and Western cultures in Macau, the course led the participants to explore the formation and development of Macau's multiculturalism, analyzing the development process, current status, and current challenges faced by Macau's higher education teachers under this unique cultural background.
The course revolved around "University Informationization Construction," "Blended Teaching Design and Practice," "Digital Skills Empowerment Education Transformation and Innovation," and "University Industry-Academia Research and Unique Teaching Professional Development," allowing participating university teachers to engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions with City University of Macau mentors. This further acquainted them with the development of smart education at City University of Macau and personalized teaching, while discussing the development trends of academic frontiers and jointly promoting the rapid development of educational causes in Macau and the region.
Since 2021, the City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center has continuously provided diversified in-service training programs and projects for university teachers and students from different provinces in mainland China. With the close exchange between mainland and Macau universities, a regular educational interconnection opportunity has been gradually established, promoting cultural exchange and integration between the two regions and jointly promoting the common development of higher education causes.
