City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center Builds "Research-Study+" Value Learning Platform

The City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center continues to plan a series of interdisciplinary research projects for teachers and students from mainland universities. On August 5, 2024, the center organized a research project themed "Tourism+Entrepreneurship" for 21 university students from Shanghai, Guangdong, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Shandong, providing them with an opportunity to understand the development of Macau's tourism industry and entrepreneurial environment, and further promoting educational exchanges between Macau and the mainland, building a regular mutual visit learning platform.

"Tourism+Entrepreneurship" Learning Platform

The course began with Professor Li Xi, the Executive Vice President of the School of International Tourism and Management at CityU, who spoke on the topic of "Challenges and Opportunities of Macau as a MICE Destination". He deeply analyzed the core position of the exhibition industry in Macau's economic development and   Macau's unique advantages as a MICE destination.

During the process, Professor Li Xi invited the trainee students to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by Macau as a MICE destination, such as policy support, talent mobility, and resource allocation, and other key factors. He guided the students to think from multiple perspectives, including Macau's geographical advantages, cultural characteristics, and existing exhibition facilities, analyzing Macau's potential and limitations as a MICE destination. This fostered critical thinking and innovation skills among the trainee students, laying a foundation for their future careers in the MICE or other related fields.

Building Learning Bridges

The course covered topics such as international tourism and hotel management, innovation and entrepreneurship development, and brand creativity development and operation mode workshops, allowing students to understand the development of Macau's tourism and entrepreneurial ecosystem, and fully experiencing the learning atmosphere and model of CityU. In addition, industry professionals were invited to share and exchange in-depth with the trainee students, giving them the opportunity to personally experience the experiences and insights of  Macau's entrepreneurs, stimulating the innovative thinking and entrepreneurial capabilities of young students.

Finally, the students shared their learning gains and experiences through group reports with other trainee students, strengthening the connection between students and providing a platform to practice the "research-study" concept.

"Research-Study+"  is not just about learning; it is also a journey to expand cognition and horizons!
