SSA Sake Introductory Course: Savoring the Essence of Japanese Sake Culture
From November 5th to 12th, ITTC hosted the Sake Service Institute of America (SSA) Japanese Sake Introductory Professional Certificate Course. This course was taught by Mr. Adolphus FOO. It guided 8 participants and embarked on a 5-hour journey to uncover the mysteries of sake, engaging in a feast of knowledge and taste!
Mr. Adolphus Foo taught the participants how sake has become an indispensable part of Japanese culture, from ancient rituals to modern dining tables, holding a significant place in Japanese social culture and traditions.Then, this course delved into the brewing process of sake. From selecting high-quality rice to finding the best water sources and choosing unique yeasts, every step is imbued with the wisdom and craftsmanship of the sake brewers. Through this section, participants gained an intuitive understanding of the complex sake brewing process.
