International Training and Testing Centre (ITTC) Collaborates with Nutrition Experts to
Discuss Dietary Strategies for Children's Growth
On March 29, the International Training and Testing Centre (ITTC) of City University of Macau host the workshops of Child Nutrition, inviting Macao nutritionists to explore the nutritional needs of children at different growth stages. The workshop aimed to help parents and children understand how dietary adjustments can support healthy development.
Addressing Parents' Concerns
During the workshop, the nutritionist addressed common parental worries such as "Is my child eating enough?", "Is their height keeping up with peers?", and "Are they underweight or overweight?". Using pediatric growth charts, parents learned to scientifically assess their children's development. Individualized discussions were conducted to provide tailored advice based on each child's specific needs.
The "Three-Color Plate" Approach
To help parents apply practical dietary strategies, the nutritionist introduced visual tools like the **"three-color plate" method**, offering a clear framework for creating balanced meals. This approach simplified meal planning by emphasizing nutrient-rich food combinations to meet children's daily requirements.
Through this workshop, parents gained deeper insights into their children's nutritional needs and acquired comprehensive knowledge to foster healthier development through informed dietary choices.
