CityU Macau International Training and Testing Center Provides "WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines" Course for Macau Tourism and Catering Professionals
The International Training and Testing Center (ITTC) of City University of Macau is actively supporting the SAR government's goal of "Building Macau with Talent." Recently, the ITTC organized the "WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines Course and Examination" for the Macau Government Tourism Office. Participants included staff from star-rated restaurants under the Macau Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme, as well as professionals from the food and beverage, retail (food and beverage-related), and tour guide sectors.
Course Content
The course covered:
Main types and styles of wine
Common grape varieties and their characteristics
Principles of food and wine pairing
Application of the WSET® Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine
Wine storage and service
This comprehensive curriculum enabled participants to systematically master professional wine-tasting knowledge, understand wine-producing regions, and develop tasting techniques. The combination of hands-on practice and interactive teaching from the instructor allowed students to truly experience the joy of wine tasting.
Instructor Introduction
Mr. Chung Kin Chong is an experienced wine and spirits professional. He is a certified sommelier by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale and a judging member of the Hong Kong Wine Judges Association, possessing extensive teaching experience and professional expertise.
