City University of Macau and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University Conclude Successful Month-Long "Research Study + Conference" Program
A cohort of 30 students and faculty from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University has successfully completed a month-long training and research program at the City University of Macau, held from July 14 to August 10, 2025. The innovative program created the model of "Academic training+ Conference" ,providing students with a unique, immersive learning experience.
At the opening, Professor Zhu Tianqing, Professor Zhu Tianqing, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, encouraged participants to explore the close connection between technology and personal future development, and to expand their professional skills and international horizons. The program, centered at the City University of Macau's Faculty of Data Science, offered specialized training in cutting-edge fields, including the current state of artificial intelligence, information security, deep learning, and web security testing. Students engaged in hands-on projects using Python and AI tools to reinforce their technical skills.
A key feature of the initiative was the integration of the 18th International Conference on Knowledge Science, Engineering and Management (KSEM 2025), hosted by CityU Macau. This allowed students to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world academic setting, network with international experts, and gain a broader perspective on their fields of study. In addition, to bridge the gap between theory and practice, the program included several field visits, such as Macau's Centro de Alerta e Resposta a Incidentes de Cibersegurança, where they learned about the practical application of security technologies in public safety and the legal frameworks governing cybersecurity in the region; Digital art exhibition, AI™️ Lab 2.0 – Are You Looking at Me, or Am I Looking at You? to experience the interactive installations-fusion of algorithms and art, challenging students to think creatively across different disciplines. Finally, the program concluded with a "lifeline" reflection session, students reviewed their experiences and learnings from the month.
By organically blending “study-tour plus conference”, the exchange not only advanced participants academically, practically and personally but also broadened their international vision and innovative mindset. Looking ahead, the CityU Macau International Training and Testing Centre will continue to leverage the university’s disciplinary strengths and the Greater Bay Area’s study-tour/program resources to promote more diversified and innovative “study-tour+” models, deepen collaboration between Macao and mainland universities, and build a “study-program+” platform that supports regional educational synergy.
