The seminar was hosted by Professor Yip Kwai Ping, Vice-President of Macau City University, who emphasized the Elderly College's role as a platform for knowledge dissemination and senior social participation, serving as a bridge between government policies and societal practice. The goal is to deepen the use of university and community resources to build age-friendly communities that support an inclusive and joyful aging society in Macau.

Key speakers included Dr. Li Jianwen from the International Tourism and Management School and Ms. Yu Xiwen, Executive Director of the Goodwill Society. Dr. Li analyzed Macau's elderly care system challenges, including limited public services, insufficient professional care, and underutilization of smart technologies, advocating for a people-centered, high-quality elderly care model that improves caregiver skills, promotes home adaptation for the elderly, and offers cultural and mental health services. Ms. Yu shared successful practices of integrating government, medical, educational, and social services via a systems thinking approach to create a sustainable, diversified community support system. This fosters a transition from passive elderly care to active and inclusive aging, thereby enhancing Macau's livability for seniors.

Representing higher education, Ms. Wu Yaofen, Acting Director of the International Training and Testing Center, highlighted the Elderly College's cooperation with government and community organizations, providing lifelong learning and social spaces for individuals aged 55 and above. The College has served over 320 seniors through lectures, workshops, and activities and plans to launch systematic annual courses in September to nurture talents for elderly education, strengthening seniors' community belonging and mental well-being.
