Academy for Seniors Students Use Paper-Cutting to Convey Warm Wishes for
City University of Macau’s 45th Anniversary

To celebrate the university’s 45th anniversary, the Academy for Seniors organized a special paper-cutting workshop in March 2026 themed “Celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the City University of Macau.” Participants used traditional Chinese paper-cutting art to create heartfelt birthday blessings for the university.

The workshop took the university’s emblem as the main design element, combined with the number “45,” allowing students to craft meaningful commemorative works. Under the instructor’s guidance, participants first traced the template lightly with a pencil, then carefully cut out the intricate patterns. The activity helped improve hand-eye coordination, concentration, and creativity while promoting the physical and mental well-being of the elderly.

The Academy’s academic-year program is built on the core values of lifelong learning and social inclusion. It offers a wide range of practical courses, workshops, and visits, helping seniors enhance their independent living skills, promote intergenerational harmony, and support the Macao SAR Government’s vision of building an age-friendly and inclusive society.
