Academy for Seniors, CityU of Macau Expands Community Services
Since its establishment in March 2025, the Academy for Seniors at City University of Macau has worked with community organizations to promote lifelong learning and social inclusion among residents aged 55 and above.
Through workshops, seminars, talks, and interactive activities, the Academy had served more than 2,000 participants across Macau by June 2026. Its programs cover healthy ageing, mindfulness, positive mental health, traditional Chinese medicine, dementia awareness, intangible cultural heritage, digital living, and practical life skills.

The Academy also collaborates with senior service centers, university volunteers, staff members, and professionals to bring educational and cultural activities into local communities. In June 2026, a clothing organization workshop held at five senior service organizations served approximately 100 participants, helping older adults develop practical skills for everyday life.
The initiative strengthens cooperation between higher education institutions and the community while creating more opportunities for Macau’s older residents to learn, connect, and enjoy an active later life.
