City University of Macau delegation visits Guizhou to build new mechanisms for
high-quality education and talent training cooperation

Supported by the Macao Foundation, the International Training and Testing Center of City University of Macau organised the “Guizhou–Macao Education Cooperation and Talent Training Development Project” from 3 to 7 August 2026. An 11-member delegation visited Guizhou to expand cooperation networks with local universities and institutions, focusing on talent cultivation, international training, and academic exchanges.

The delegation met officials from the United Front Work Department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. Discussions covered talent development, higher education collaboration, youth affairs, digital education, and high-quality teacher training. Both sides agreed to deepen resource sharing under initiatives such as the “Thousand Overseas Study Programme,” promote student and faculty exchanges, short-term study tours, joint teacher training, and certification programmes.

At Guizhou University of Commerce, talks focused on talent cultivation, research cooperation, cultural exchange, and industry–education integration. The two sides explored student programmes, short-term exchanges, curriculum alignment, faculty visits, think-tank collaboration, and practical cooperation in areas such as cultural tourism, health and wellness, and the digital economy.

At Guizhou Normal University, discussions covered potential joint forums, research collaboration (including Portuguese-speaking countries studies), mobile classrooms, executive training, leadership programmes, red culture and rural revitalisation study tours, cross-border tourism, and digital industry integration. Plans were discussed to build a Guizhou–Macao regional innovation cooperation platform.

At Guizhou University, which has maintained ties with City University of Macau since 2016, the sides reviewed past cooperation and proposed four future directions: stronger alliance platforms with regular academic seminars; teacher workshops and training to enhance internationalisation; practical collaboration in Guizhou’s economic, trade, and technology management fields; and expanded two-way student mobility.

The successful visit marks a new stage of strategic mutual trust in education between City University of Macau and Guizhou. It strengthens joint talent cultivation pathways and injects fresh momentum into faculty co-training, joint research, and international education. Looking ahead, the two sides will continue to explore cross-regional higher education collaboration models aligned with national coordinated development strategies, building long-term interconnection mechanisms to support higher-quality joint development.
