[Training Exchange] Delegation from Shijiazhuang University of Finance and Economics Visits CityU for 'Teaching and Research Capacity Enhancement Training' Course

During August 13-17, 2024, a 16-member delegation led by Vice President Gao Sen and Vice President Wang Yongli from Shijiazhuang University of Finance and Economics visited the City University of Macau. Through this visit, they not only participated the 'Teaching and Research Capacity Enhancement Training' course arranged by the CityU International Training and Testing Center, also met with CityU President Liu Jun to discuss future cooperation in education.

University Exchange

On August 13, the delegation from Shijiazhuang University of Finance and Economics, led by Vice President Gao Sen, was warmly received by CityU President Liu Jun. They toured the National Science and Technology Department's China-Portugal Cultural Heritage Protection Science "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory, as well as the campus environment and teaching facilities at CityU.

President Liu Jun sincerely welcome to Vice President Gao Sen and his delegation, introducing various aspects of CityU's development history, academic construction, industry-academia research cooperation achievements, international exchanges, academic development, and the latest directions in educational achievements. Vice President Gao Sen expressed his gratitude for the training arrangements by CityU and shared the basic situation, history, educational positioning, and international exchange and cooperation features of Shijiazhuang University of Finance and Economics.

Personnel from both sides hope that through this exchange and training cooperation, they can further promote connections in teacher training, student exchange, scientific research cooperation, and other areas, and jointly build an educational exchange platform.

Training Course Implementation

The following afternoon, the delegation began their training course with Vice President Kwong Wai Yip from the Faculty of Finance, CityU, who spoke on the topic of "The Development of Higher Education in Macau and Industry-Academia Cooperation Strategies," using CityU as an example. The discussion with the leaders and teaching and research team from Shijiazhuang University of Finance and Economics, who were visiting CityU for the first time, focused on the importance of Macau's   universities engaging in educational cooperation with universities around the world and introducing high-quality educational resources and innovative elements.

Additionally, the course included a lecture by Associate Professor Wang Xin from the School of International Tourism and Management at CityU on "Macau's Multiculturalism and Social Overview," and Assistant Professor Dai Yi from the Faculty of Education at CityU on "School Management in the Context of Digital   Transformation."

This allowed the participants to understand how Macau, a city of multiculturalism, faces challenges and grasps opportunities in the wave of globalization, and to learn how to effectively use emerging artificial intelligence technologies to innovatively understand school management and the transformation of classroom teaching and other practical issues. It helped the participants to better integrate their professional development needs into school management and teaching development.

Future Engagement

Finally, the leaders and teaching and research team from Shijiazhuang University of Finance and Economics received completion certificates from Vice President Chow Wan Lei of CityU, officially concluding the training course. Vice President Chow Wan Lei also congratulated the success of the training project and expressed his   expectations for future exchanges and cooperation. He pointed out that the end of this training is the beginning of the next cooperation, hoping that both sides can strengthen their ties, promote student training through teacher training, jointly build an educational exchange and cooperation platform, and further promote the sustainable development of higher education.
