ITTC co-organized with Sprouts Studies Consultancy Limited,
the "Ecotourism Guide - Introductory Certification Course"
Accompanying the comprehensive advancement of the national "14th Five-Year Plan" for ecological civilization construction and the in-depth implementation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's green development strategy, International Training and Testing Center (ITTC) of City University of Macau collaborated with Yucui Education Consulting Co., Ltd. to launch Macau's first "Ecotourism Guide - Introductory Certification Course."
At the beginning, Mr. Man Chong SIT, the Operating Director of Sprouts Studies Consultancy Limited stated that the course is based on the requirement to "improve talent cultivation mechanisms" outlined in the State Council's "Carbon Peak Action Plan Before 2030." The course aims to cultivate professionals with carbon cycle and carbon sequestration capabilities. Additionally, it aligns with the Macau SAR Government's "Environmental Protection Plan" to provide green education and ecological conservation professionals for Macau's sustainable development.
The course integrates resources from Hengqin and Macau, adopting an innovative "one course, two locations" model. It focuses on ecological conservation and sustainable development, building a talent cultivation platform that meets national and Macau's needs for sustainable development and "carbon capabilities." This platform contributes to achieving the national goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
The four-day course (February 22-23 and March 1-2, 2025) allows participants to gain hands-on experience with the ecological environments of Macau and Hengqin. It covers the responsibilities of an ecotour guide from educational, tourism, and personal skill enhancement perspectives, as well as understanding the core content of carbon neutrality and how to achieve it.
Certification and Support
This course is certified by the Macau Low Carbon Development Association, achieving the goal of "carbon neutrality." Additionally, participating students are awarded one ton of carbon credits as recognition of their contributions to green development.
