ACE-Foundational Sports Nutrition Certificate Course
The City University of Macau International Training and Testing Center launched the 'ACE-Foundational Sports Nutrition Certificate Course in November 2024. The entire course was led by Macau-registered dietitian, Lei Ka Meng, starting from scratch and combining interaction and practice to help participants understand their daily dietary habits and the nutrients required by the body, as well as the challenges faced by those in the nutrition industry and becoming a dietitian.
Mr. Lei began with the myths of daily diet, the differences between everyday, fitness, and sports nutrition, and then discussed the main nutrients required by the body, allowing participants to grasp the foundational concepts of nutrition. The instructor also referred to common food nutrition labels in daily life, analyzing and calculating with participants their daily required calories and nutrients, thereby assessing the portion sizes of their daily diet and understanding their personal nutritional needs. This enabled participants to apply their learned knowledge in a practical way, managing their diet and health more effectively.
Mr. Lei is a registered dietitian in Macau, with experience in nutritional consultation and clinical practice. He holds CIEH Food Safety (Level 2) and CIEH Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point certificates, and is committed to providing professional nutritional consultation services to those in need.
